Headlight Flickering Problem
I have a 1970 F250 camper special that when I turn the headlights on, after a period of time (work fine at first), the headlights start to flicker on/off and you can hear something like a breaker switch tripping somewhere on/off.I have replaced the headlights because they eventually burnt out, but would like to fix the problem because it's gotten to where I can't trust them to drive anywhere at night. This truck w/camper has been passed on to me from my parents and is in excellent condition otherwise(72,000 original miles). Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance, Alan

it would be faster for you to do a quick search on this or the year of truck forum that your truck fits into,to get the info on it than for me to go through the whole thing.
Type in " Flickering headlights"
The search access is across the top when on the main message boards page.
It probably means the circuit breaker in the headlight switch is toast.

Headlight Flickering Problem
Hey there, I've got a 69 Camper Special that had the same problem. Here is what I did to solve it. On my truck I have emergency flasher toggle switch under the glove box. I un-plugged it and they never flashed again. So if you have one of those you might wanna give that a try. Good Luck.

That's a fairly common problem with some of these older rigs, aka 'Ford Flashing Lights Syndrome', mighty annoying I'll bet. More than likely, it's the headlight switch itself - they have an integral breaker and time takes its' toll on them. Maybe there's an easy repair worth trying like contact cleaner, but I haven't tried it.
Looks like the switch you need is Ford part # D3ZZ-11654-A, under $20 at your local parts house.
Keep 'er between the ditches.
