throttle body

I was wanting to know if an after market throttle body would be worth the time and money.

how many more horses will you get out of it?

it is hard to make it work with a fuel injected 05 f150 4.6L?

any gains in fuel economy?

which brand is the best?

thanks
Jimbo

I think your drive by wire and I haven't seen any single port (non-supercharged v8) drive by wire throttle bodies. BBK is usually pretty good, I have a professional products, but the linkage is backwards.

throttle body spacer

what about a throttlebody spacer?

would an airaid throttle body spacer work well with a K&N 57 series air intake on my 05 f150 xlt 4.6L?

many people have told me they really help the fuel ecomomy by the way it makes the air flow, is this true?

Mine didn't do anything positive for me. On a carb, the air and fuel could be mixed better by swirling the air charge, but on multiport fuel injection, it will just make the air turbulent. The extra phenolic volume isn't a bad thing, but may cause some fitment problems with the cold air kit.

Wow the stock throttle body can hold up to 500 hp. Never knew that. Tryin to find out where I can go to see if this is true or not? Meaning sources.

Some can sure, it depends on the vacuum or pressure pushing air in. Air flow is a big part of horse power, pressure being a function of volume, the more pressure differential the more volume that can pass through it.

As often as you care to take it a part. I like to clean them at the same time as I replace the fuel filter. For me, that's every other year, 15k miles.

I unbolt the throttle body, hose it down with carb cleaner and wipe it clean with a paper towel.
