lug pattern?

i am trying to look for some new wheels for my truck because right now all i have are the wheels with no hubcaps and they are painted black. i was wondering how can i figure out what the lug pattern is for my 82 F-100 and it was built in april of 82 just in case you need to know that. For some reason i remember somewhere saying they when from a 5X4.5 to a 5X5.5 sometime in 82 i think not sure. Any help would be apreciated

just measure the distance between studs on the opposite sides it will be either 4.5 inches or 5.5 inches

Im not forsure but arent most ranger rims 5x4.5? If they are they had the same style rims as the f150s for the most part, you could maybe just pick you up a set of them if they would fit. Im pretty sure they are 5x4.5 though.

I have an 88 ranger 4x4, it has 15" factory rims but, it had the offroad package or something of that time. My dad bought it new and he told me that it came with a factory lift and bigger tires, maybe that also included bigger rims?

Careful...try before you buy.

Ranger rims may not clear the calipers on your truck.

Cars used the same bolt pattern for many years (5 lug 4.50 bolt circle), but car wheels won't clear the calipers.

Boy do i feel lucky.I've got an 80 F100 and thank god my bolt pattern was 5 on 5.5.I added some wheels off of a 92-96 F150.They look pretty good on there.
