I know to use Beru/Motorcraft plugs.
My motor supposedly calls for the "spade" type connections on the glow plugs but it has the "round" cap style.
It's an '86 6.9L
Yeah,
I don't know the history of the truck so it could have a 7.3L NA swapped in for all I know.
I'm gonna have to review the visual differences between the two.
The connectors on my '94 turbo are "deeper" sockets so it's a little different.
The easiest way to tell is the oil filler. A 7.3 has a cover over the injection pump bolts and a built in oil filler above it with a plastic cap sticking out at an angle. A 6.9 has a metal cap and injection pump bolt cover built in as one, the oil filler sticks straight up.
OK, now I'm starting to work on getting the glow plugs working.
The controler terminal and ground terminal were (intentionally?) pulled off of the GP relay.
Why would someone do this?
The glow plugs still don't work with the wires reattatched. I pulled them back off for fear of the reason why they were pulled off in the first place.
