Erratic fuel guage
Front tank was about empty so I filled it today. Initially it wouldn't register past 3/4 full. Later in the day it showed a full tank. Tonite is shows the big E, sometimes creeping up to 1/4 tank or so. With two tanks, I can probably get by with this annoyance without being stranded someplace, but I'd prefer to have functional fuel gauges. I am seeing no other indication of electrical problems whatsoever. No flickering, dimming, nothing. The rear tank shows about 1/3 full. I have put no fuel in it, and it showed 1/2 tank when I bought it. It seems to indicate an accurate reading based on the driving I have done.
I searched back several pages for a post on this, but didn't see anything. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
All the 70's 80's 90's are the same design.
The fuel sending units in Fords trucks are awful.
That's what your problem is.
