I have a 1977 f-250 4x4 with the 351M in it and the lights started flickering. The pace of the flickering is fast they never really go out. This effects all lights would this be a bad ground from frame to body or Voltage reg. or alt. It wasn't doing it all the time before but now it is. Any ideas would help.I was thinking trying a temp. ground from neg. post of batt. to body just to see if that was it and if so then hook up ground like it should be. Or do I try voltage reg. 1st.

Actually it's not my truck it's a buddy of mine who's having the problems. But any way all lights are pulsating very fast. It don't speed up with rpm's.

I would check the mounting of the voltage reg on the truck. On the older trucks if the voltage regulator lost contact with groung it would go into a high voltage output (18 VDC if I rember right. The voltage regulator gets it's ground through the mounting screws on the inner fender wall. The other thing to try if that is not the promlem is run a wire from the altnator housing to the case of the voltage regulator. If that clears the problem up then look at the ground wire to the inner fender.
