second battery

my truck came stock with only one battery and i want to put a second battery in for my winch and amp, and i was wondering if anyone has done this or knows how to do this thanks
1992 F250 r/c l/b 4X4 351 5spd

second battery

Picture how the wirings looks when you are using jumper cables. POS to POS and NEG to NEG. That is called "parallel" If you wire in series you will get 24 volts. I would beef up all the battery cables to 2 guage. That should work well when you are rescuing Chevys and Jeeps with the winch.

second battery

There is two ways to do this. One is with an isolator the other is with a solonoid. The shop where I work, we use the solonoid method. It is easier and seams to be more reliable. The hook up is easy and should be explained in the directions of the solonoid.
