Adding door speakers

I am putting a radio in my 79 f2504x4. How did the factory run the wires to the door speakers? I don't see any holes in the door jams. What did the factory use to protect the wires in the jam area. Where is the best place to drill holes in the jam.

bart do a search on here for door speakers, since the search function works better you should find some information on this.

The factory wiring had rubber grommets attached to the wiring. I will try to take a picture of the radio wiring I just got out of a truck at pull-a-part this weekend
