starter instalation

I use a deep socket with a U-Joint attachment and about a 12-16" extension on a ratchet.

I think the one you are talking about is accessed from the top. It is much easier to remove this one first as the starter will not try to come out if other bolts ar in it. If removed last the starter will try to come out while you loosen the bolt, making it more of a job then it has to be ( I learned this the hard way, that is why I remember this). Also this should be the last one installed. Hope this helps.

thanks alot for the info. I broke it loose from the top. then I was able to get extension on ratchet over top of starter, and held starter with one hand and ratchet with other. came out so smooth I think I got it down to a science. the getting your body and arms in right position was the hardest thing. Its kinda tight under there with a belly. LOL
