BTW, I would consider dumping the K&N. I messed around with them on three of my family vehicle and decided they are not worth the fuss, I have also had the MAf problems, and others on this forum have as well, and the filtering efficiency is about as low as you can get and still call it a filter. I don't like sand and grit in my engine.
I much prefer the AFE ProDry. Seems to flow just as well as best I can tell, and it is so much easier to clean, plus it has a very high filtering efficiency, close to OEM levels. It is made of the same type of material that surgical masks and hypoallergenic filters are made from. This allows it to remove small particale without restricting airflow. I won't tell you what to do, but the K&N filters are horribly overrated, and are know to conflict with and contaminate the MAF sensors, which results in a loss of fuel economy and horsepower, and often damages the sensor, requiring replacement of a sensor that costs a lot more than a filter. Also increased airflow does not always mean more power.
