Squeaky ashtray door - 2004 FX4
When mine gets cold it rattles in its holder all the time. I don't smoke and don't care to continue driving around all the time with it open to keep it quiet. It seems to be coming from behind it, but goes away when opened.
If anyone has had the issue or can weigh in I would appreciate it.

there's actually a TSB that shows how to fix it but I can't find an active weblink for it right now. But basically you have to take your ashtray out and put foam tape on the bottom 3 pins of it. I did this to mine over 2 years ago and it hasn't rattled since.

Yeah, mine does that same rattling.
I have a 05 FX4.
Best way is to follow the recall, put foam or padded tape under the actual pull out trey, or simply remove the trey all together.
