428cj heads

ive got a lead on a set of 428cj heads that were rebuilt in the early 1980's. but the shop did not use stainless steel valves or install hardened seats.

he may want about $400. for them. and also he has a blue thunder intake for these heads, he may sell it to me for about $125-$200. the intake is brand new still in box.

my question is, will these heads bolt up to my 390 block? i do realize i would have to change my exhaust, but i was planning on changing the heads anyway.

will this offer be worth my time, effort and hard earned money??????

This is a question for a different forum on this site. There is a whole discussion about 360/390 engine blocks at FE & FT Big Block V8 (332, 352, 360, 390, 406, 410, 427, 428) - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums All they talk about are FE and FT engine blocks and I can assure you that there are some good answers to your questions.

Browse through and ask the same question. You'll get a vigorous discussion. If you don't get the answer you want, come back here and we'll make something up.
