'99 F350 PSD.......

Okay, this is REALLY starting to bug me. For no apparent reason, from time to time, my "door ajar" light comes on and stays on. Of course this means my lites in the cab (crew cab) stay on as well-or apparently they are on a timer-they will shut off.......until I hit the brakes, then they turn back on..........etc. To top it off, when I get out of truck, pull keys, the lights will still stay on-to the point that twice I had to jump start the truck the next morning. The doors are not ajar, and I can't pinpoint when or why it does this. Spring, summer, fall or whatever.....it'll do it for a couple days, then quit. Except this time-been goin' on for 2-3 weeks now. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks in advance.

The switches for the door ajar are in the latches. They are little pin switches that get dirty and tend to stick. I would spray the latches really good with some penatrating fluid. Any thing like spray grease just causes dirt to stick and they gum up again. Also would be a good idea to check for water leaks. If the gem module and fuse panel get wet lots of stange things happen.
Kevin.
