Oh these are buggers that will test your patence. Soak the connection point with WD40 and walk away. Come back a while later and soak it again. Insert the tool and while holding it in with one hand push the connection together and then pull apart. It may take several attempts to get these apart, once you get the connection to move some it will come. I just took the motor out of my truck this past weekend and had to fight with these things.. not easy when you are practically lying in the engine bay.
