hi, im gettin ready to install a cam, lifters, timing gear set, push rods, and tune up on a 93 4.9l f-150. do i need anything else to install the cam besides new gaskets? do i need new valve springs or seals or anything like that? its the stage 2 crower cam. i really dont know what else i would need if anything.or if there are people who have done the same thing as i am looking to do, what did you guys do? . any help is appreciated. thanks for your time.

Check the manufacturer's web site or your cam card for the recommended springs and then look up the seat pressure and spring rate for them. If they recommend anything over about 85psi seat pressure(stock springs) you need the matching aftermarket springs.

thanks a lot. this is my first exploration of the inner workings of an engine. i built the truck from the frame up, but i just installed the engine without doing anything to it for ease of the project. now its time to add some power and freshen everything up. thanks again for the help.
