Another option: get a fan from a salvage yard, but get a new fan clutch. There's also some info in the archives about converting to an electric from a Taurus or Sable.

These are always available on eBay as well. The blades are mounted on a metal core. The cracks look scarey but there is little danger of emmient separation. As mentioned, replacing the fan clutch is a good idea. You'll need special wrenches to get the fan off. Auto parts stores have loaner wrenches. They are often the cheap, flat stamped design and as such, the wrench opening can be spread open too far to be useful. Check this before taking them out of the store. If the opening does not appear perfectly "square" ask for another set.

The 3l fan comes off easy, the 4l is tougher...I do not think the 3 needs that monster wrench mentioned above, I have done both, but it has been awhile since i owned a 3l..i do know that i did not buy/rent any tools to do so, but on the 4, i did.

Thanks for the replys. Used a 10 inch vise grip to hold water pump pully. Works very well. Tried a flex fan w/spacer, not to good. Would filling the fan cracks with JB weld throw it off balance?

Because the cracks are close to centerline, i doubt it...but i don't think the plastic will adhere well enough to any epoxy to prevent a blade separation..as mentioned above,
they usually don't do that?? I ditched my cracked 4l. fan and went electric (taurus 3.8l)
and powered it with a "DC" control, works good. It's the 4l fans that were the bad ones, surprised to hear your 3.0 went bad.
