engine computer help 4.9
Hi, I have a 1993 f-150 4x4 with the 4.9l and np435 stick shift. let me say first that i know what a 300 is designed for. i love this engine. i just want to make it run as good as i can, and squeeze a few more hp and torque out of it too. its a 75k mile engine, and i want to add power and reliability to it, as a ford 300 will already last forever. ok, now to my questions. with the current computer and speed density setup, will a mild cam work correctly? if not, what will i need to do to make it work right? i have a 95 parts truck with the same options, just that its a 95 4.9. did the 95's have mass air setups with eec-IV computers? what kind of computer is in my 93? its not a california truck, if it makes a difference. all i wanna do to this engine is cam, bigger injectors, complete tune-up(new msd-6a too), intake(snorkel or k&n), dual exhaust, and anything else i would need to do to the engine. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks for your time.
