Did you go cat back and if so whatsize pipes and all did ya use, single or dual? I am wanting to get a little rumble out of mine, I am so close to loosing the muffler and just replacing it with a piece of pipe, hope ya can help me out, Thnaks.
Yes it does help me out, Thanks so much!! Now I have to locate a flowmaster like that, any ideas on where to find them? Local auto store or would muffler shops have them? I have heard of 40 series, someone tried to talk me into a american thundetr or something like that, they said it is the loudest 40 series they make. or is it earthquake, heck i do not know, You said it is a "original" is that what i would ask for when I start to call around, I defdinitly like the sound of your system, but I think I would like to hook to my existing tail pipe, Hope to hear some input from ya! Thanks.
ya, i actually went to Midas Muffler it costed me in total $330 bucks, that includes custom piping, the Original 40 Muffler, and the 4" Chrome tips , installed within 2 1/2 hours. but ya its called the original, but if you want less interior noise go with the Super 40, its the same exact loudness outside but less in the inside,
but most muffler or auto shops that install mufflers should carry them, go to midas.com and search for a store near where you live
Well I just got back from the exhaust shop, I told them I wanted a original 40 flowmaster in place of my stock muffler they did that, and I HATE it, lol It is so quiet it sounds nothing like yours, I just had them hook it up to my existing tail piepe, and there is hardly no rumble or anything, hell i cannot even hear it in the cab when I am driving. So now what, lol. I do not see flowmaster wrote anywhere on the muffler should there be?
You had them hook up to your original tailpipe? To get the sound in this tread, you need the dual tailpipes. If you just hooked up to the stock tailpipe, then its not going to be very loud. I have a 50 series ( the next quietest Flowmaster) on my van, and it has plenty of sound, but I had a custom catback built. I had them make the tailpipe out of one size larger than needed, and it has a very nice growl as a result. You need either dual tailpipes, or a larger tailpipe to really project the sound.

I have a question. I have the original 40 flowmaster SI/DO. I notice sometimes when im driving its loud as can be. Then other days i notice that its got a quieter tone to it and doesnt roar like it usually does. Can anyone give me an explaination on this?
IMO, a 'single-in dual-out muffler and some pipes is not "dual exhaust" ..........dual exhaust is two mufflers & two long lengthS of pipeS from both cats back .....that's like the new v-6 Mustangs, single pipe to the muffler at the rear of the car then dual outlets on the muffler , sheesh, "dual exhaust"
