We use 4140, 4150, 17/4 SST, 316 SST and some Inconel in those parts. We also work with a lot of titanium and aluminum. We do every type of machining and welding that you can think of. We also do industrial hard chrome, nickel plating and carbide coating. Even though I have worked there for 24 years I am still amazed at some of the stuff we pull off.

I've plated a few things for my Dad's cars that he has restored and we even did a bell for an antique fire engine once that the local fire department was restoring. I did nickel plate a skid plate for a lifted 4 Runner that used to have. It came out really sweet looking.

Nice pics of what you do at work. That stuff is a tad bit bigger than what is used on water wells.

They do sort of look like supercharger screws.

Thanks for the compliment, Mark.

Scott these look like the screws from an injection mold machine. I used to pull these from 300 ton machine when I worked for Titleist.

First thing I thought of when I saw those was blower screws. Glad you didn't get any damage.

Oh and a minor correction... The outer edge of the storm has feeder bands, not "bans"... They're just the outer arms of the storm that swirl around the center and can have pretty heavy weather in them, including tornadoes. The storm surge is indeed caused by the wind. These storms rotate counter clockwise, so when the make landfall coming from the east, the surge is on the north side. When they make landfall from the west (like along the west coast of FL where I'm from), the surge will be on the south side of the storm. That's just because the forward momentum of it combined with the winds blowing counter-clockwise "push" water in the same direction, creating surge when they hit land.

I'm a bonafide weather geek, so I hope you all don't mind me posting my geekified stuff. I also chase storms sometimes, and I even have some hail dings in my hood.

Back to your regularly scheduled OT jackassery....
