I could tell you But then I would have to throw a pie in your face.
The 4" starter spins at 150-250 RPM turning the flywheel.
The 4 1/2" spins at 180-280 Rpm
I would suggest it spins at 3000 Rpm freely

Starter Question
I pulled the plugs on the 460 and using a digital tach, find that it turns over at 289 RPM. I then measured a 460 flexplate and it's 15.5 inches across. I don't happen to have a starter laying around but I am guessing from gear bottom to gear bottom is about 1 inch across. This puts the starter RPM's at almost 4500, ouch, no wonder they cook if cranked for very long.

I am designing a hydraulic dump trailer, I am just getting too lazy to unload one with a shovel. I already have a little Eaton hydraulic gear pump and am trying to determine what I can power it with.
