I am about to buy a 99 f150 extended cab with a 4.6, and wanted to know if anyone has had experience driving in snow and ice in one. I know trucks are notoriously bad in winter weather, but i wanted to know how the 150 rates..
thanks
Jason
I hate to say it but it is a combination of the driver and tires. Having the correct tires for the surface you are driving on is half the battle. Knowing what to do is the other half. In itself the truck goes where you point it. If you opt for a limited slip differential you should expect the rear end to want to come around more than without. A 4x2 with a limited slip axle and 500 lbs in the rear can travle most roads in the winter. Good luck with your purchase.

My 97 4x4 4.6 SWB gets around rather well, if you consider my tooling around in 2wd with no problem while my buddies in their Chevies are having to lock theirs into 4wd to get around any sign!
