After all this time my son and I have forgotten a couple of things on my truck engine we finally fired it up yesterday and a friend came over to help reset the timing. Here are pictures.
1.I know the pcv goes into the top of the oil filler cap but can't remember where the hose goes afterward.
2. the right rear of the right side valve cover has a rubber grommet and can't remember what goes there.
3.the upper intake has a port at the rear of it and one of the above is suppose to go there.
On the engines I had, the front driver's side PCV that goes into the valve cover cap, went to the front of the carb to a large nipple underneath. It's a little bit hard to see, since it's under the fuel bowel. This was on the original 2bbl type carb.
The other large hose coming out of the passenger side valve cover goes to the aircleaner, and hooks to the little holder that holds a filter that looks like a plastic brillo pad.
PCV goes in right valve cover and hose from it to port on base of carburetor or to intake manifold. Hose from oil filler cap goes to small filter on air cleaner on carbed models. Not sure where it goes on injected ones but probably somewhere on air cleaner or ductwork.
The hoses should still go to the same places. PCV hose should go to the air filter box where you should have a crankcase filter insde along with the air filter. The other hose should just go to a vacumn port on your intake or around your throttle body.

AHH, my bad I got them backwards. The chrome cap on your driver side valve cover will have a plastic elbow or something of the sort and will run to the crankcase breather in your airbox. The hole on the passenger side valve cover will hold the PCV valve and will have a hose that runs to a vacumn port on your intake or TB area.
