It's almost time.....
I'm getting ready to go on the BIG TRIP with the Ex.
Me, my wife, and a nephew and niece are headed out Friday morning for Indiana from SoCal. We are leaving about 3:00 am
(I am regularly up at 2
) and going to the Grand Canyon. It's about 7 hour drive, so I figure with stops for breakfast and potty breaks, we'll get there ~noon. Do a tour of the South Rim; then try to do the Painted Desert/Petrified Forest in the afternoon. If not, Saturday morning. Either way, we'll spend the night in Holbrook, AZ, and get into Tulsa sometime late Saturday or Sunday morning. Visit with my three brothers there Sunday and Monday morning, and get to Indiana late Monday and get a hotel for the night; then roll on into Bargersville (just south of Indianapolis) Tuesday morning.
I'm taking my laptop, so I can check in on everyone every now and then.
This will be a great experience for my niece and nephew, as they've only been away from home as far as Santa Barbara. They are STOKED about the trip.
And I'm looking forward to rolling down the highway with a little help from my DP tuner, and seing just how many mpg I can coax from this beast!!
Joe (X-hemi-guy): I haven't forgotten you!! If I can swing it, I was thinking we could hook-up 1/2 way; maybe Muncie or? I'll pm you as things begin to focus.
For all you folks going to Gatlinburg:
