Hello all Nice forum.

I just purchased a 2002 7.3 excursion.
All stock just a K&N air filter for now

I am looking to get a programmer and maybe exhaust .

I am a big Drag racer (Super Pro Bracket racing) I tow my Chevy powered Pontiac with a ford diesel.

BTW my dad has a 04 350 lariat crew cab 6.0 also thats one of the reasons i went to a diesel

right now on the highway im getting 22-23 mpg going 65. i am looking to do much as i can to get the best fuel millage i can. Any suggestions wold be great.

It will also be towing a 24 foot enclosed trailer ( approximate 8000)

22-23 at 65 is doing pretty good... I don't have a good run on mine at that speed right now.... but I am curious if you calculated it on fillup or if you are going from the overhead. On mine the overhead is way off.... but thats primarily from the chip. I am running 17 mpg average over 1500 miles mixed driving including some trailering and 1/4 town driving.
Visit the 7.3L diesel forum here, a very smart pack over there. Most of them say ditch the k + n for a Napa 6637 filter....search the back posts for reasoning. DP tuner is the overwhelming fave over there....and big pipes always sound cooler even if they don't help...but in the 7.3's case it does.
