Mystery Water
Ok here's the latest mystery with my ranger. We got 2.5 inches of rain the other night. I get into the truck the next morning and the floors are soaked. Just the areas under the floor mats on both the drivers and passengers side, not the transmission hump, rear hump, seats or anything else. All my windows were shut, and I ran it through the car wash this afternoon and didn't find any leaks around the glass, doors, or anything. I'm just wonderin how all this water got on my floors. The carpets are coming out as soon as the temp drops a little bit around here so maybe that will help me solve the problem.

Have you had the windsheild replaced? Make sure the glazer that did the work got it sealed correctly. Sometimes a quick run thru the carwash won't show any leaks were a continual rain will!! I had a company 3500 chevy that got the windshield replaced and they forgot (are just didn't care) to replace the hold down screws under the air grill between the windshield and the hood. Leaked like a sieve in a rainstorm. Had a small waterfall inside the truck. I got some dumb-dumb putty and used sheetmetal screws and it solved the problem.

Look for trails down the back wall of the cab under the window. Look also under the dashboard, up near where the front speakers are, for rust and loose paint. Hard to describe, but stand on your head in the truck, and look up in the passenger side farthest towards the firewall 'corner' for rust.
