Trailer Lights Wont Work

Hi my trailer lights wont work at all the problem is in my truck somewhere the trailer lights are fine I checked fuses and found nothing checked wiring harness and it is plugged in good the only thing out of place is a black wire coming from my passenger taillight thta goes to nowhere should that be a ground or does this have nothing to do with it.

might be bad ground, check with test light at plug on truck
