Same motor?

I'm looking to buy a 90 F150 from an original owner for weekend trips to Home Depot etc. I'm told the original 5.0 was replaced with another 5.0 from a car. A Crown Vic I suppose. Are the motors the same, or are truck motors more rugged?
Thanks

There is basically only one 5.0, there were subtle differences internaly depending upon the vehicle it was put in, and obviously the intake system and accessories varied by vehicle as well, but none of these thing makes one motor more or less durable than the other.

I think that most of the later car motors used a different spark plug than the trucks (different heads).
