Tapping concern?

I was running my 2004 f150 non heritage truck a quart low, when i noticed a tapping noise on the passenger side of my truck. I flushed the motor and drained the oil, then i replaced the oil and filter. Also putting in a quart of marvels mystery oil to see if i can un gunk the dirty valve. I still have the tapping noise that excels when i press the accelerator. What should i do next and how much am i looking to spend to fix the problem? I really need a good honest reply for i am very concerned.

What engine do you have? The 8s are prone to exhaust manifold studs breaking causing a ticking sound which gets louder on acceleration.

I have a v8 5.4. I am checking the manifold now i appreciate your reply i hope thats all the problem is ill get back in a minute.

how many miles are on your truck?? have the spark plugs been checked at all??

sounds like it might be the cam phasers or lash adjusters had them replaced on my 05 back in June before my warranty was up had a knocking on the passenger side cylinder head they replaced both sides.
