Robin, the aluminum angle mounted boxes are a good and clean install.
I have the Autometer set up, so I don't have the amp boxes either.

Couldn't say it better myself. Nice going guys.

Those gauges looked great when I saw you last month Mike. I put the DiPricol HPOP & Fuel pressure on the windshield mount and the detail is sharp and the lighting at night is crisp and easy on the eyes.

IF I ever get an influx of extra $ I might consider swapin' out the ones on the A-Pillar for the DiPricols. Definitely on my next 7.3L though.

Thanks Glenn, Roland, Chris. Took a little more time than normal but broke up the install in two days. Very happy with them.

My back was pretty sore after installing mine. Plus, I only had the 2 gauges on the pillar which I put in 3 years ago so when I got around to installing the 3 lower dash ones, I was not looking forward to it. Luckily, I was able to do most of the pre-wire stuff on the workbench so it was easier. A buddy wants me to help with his 4 gauge pillar, just waiting for a bad-weather weekend to do that one.

Hey Chris I,m a little sore also. Went out tonite to check out everything and the trans gauge wouldn't move, so when i came home and checked, lose wire, not crimped all the way. Crimped it tighter and wala, works. As for the pyro, i really wished i got these gauges sooner, couldn't believe how fast the temps can climb without any load. Can just imagine with my trailer on the back. Ok, just cruising at 50 mph the temps were at times between 400 and 600 depending on the foot movement. Boost looked fine, at 50 cruising showed 1 or maybe 2 pounds of boost but when starting out rose to as high as 23(wife was talking around this time) with moderate pressure on the fuel and red line off the wastegate. Just wanted to see how much boost with the red line off.. I,ll check out the trans temps and boost again tomorrow because of the loosely crimped wire..

Mike:

Great looking install!!! Pictures always help! Dam glad your tranny temp issue was just a loose wire!

Just some numbers I've seen to give you an idea:

Speed: ~70 mph (2100 rpm); cruise control on; 3:45 am on the highway
EGT: 500-600; up to ~750 climbing a hill
Boost: ~ 3 psi
Tranny: 150°

Now, this is running the 80e tune on the DP. Taking off from dead stop, or while rolling easy, I can push the skinny pedal hard, and get up to 20 psi boost easily. With the wastegate connected. Next mod may be OBA. Depends how much I have left after the road trip.

Enjoy the gages!!!

Glad you found your tranny gauge issue. I was surprised like you to see how fast the EGT's climb. i tow a lot in the hills around here and watch my pyro like a hawk.

Numbers look good Mike. Yeah, where do you think your EGTs were pulling the trailer up a hill near WOT. These gauges should come standard with any truck you by from the dealer, instead of the factory idiots.

Congrats on getting them installed Mike. I love how my gauges look, especially when they are lit up at night.

You think they do some dancing around now, just wait until you drive them with a DP-Tuner. And yes, your numbers do look good. Glad all is working for you.

Last weekend I learned how light my right foot can become while towing. Never was in the danger zone but with the tuner, you can move the pyro needle real fast now. Couple of downshifts and finesse of the foot kept me within the powerband yet not melting anything internal.

Thanks everybody for the encouraging words, also forgot to say it was in the S.C. 110 hp setting with this test run. I'll pop on later to update the trans temps. Also putting the red line back on to see these no# from boost. I notice from past experience,s my fuel mileage drops with the red line unhooked from the wastegate even though i like the extra boost. And yes, gauges should come with the trucks from the factory.

Ran it at 70 mph last nite with the red line hooked back up to the wastegate, boost was 4 to 5 pounds, trans was between 150 to 160 with no load and pyro flucuated between600 700 depending on foot pressure, everything cool? thanks

Those #'s sound right on. Have fun. Keep one eye on the road, the other on your new gauges.
