question about tips

they make the exhaust sound deeper right? i'm looking at Summit's selection and i'm wondering if its the wider the deeper or the longer the deeper.

There's two foot tips from hedman but have 2.5" inlet and 3.5" outlet

theres 5 in. diameter tips that look plain dumb.

just a question on what will give a deeper tone

*1981 351W true duals 2.5" exhaust 12" glasspacks

Longer, larger diameter tips will usually help deepen the sound, they act as an echo chamber.

A different muffler is best way to change the exhaust sound. You can adjust the length of the pipe, diameter of the pipe or what frequencies are dampened. The 2.5" pipes with 12" glass packs should be pretty throaty. Have you broken out the fiberglass in the mufflers yet?
