I have a 2002 F250 with a strange electrical problem. My door ajar light is always on, the interior lights do not come on when the doors (all 4 crew cab) are opened, the chime doesn't chime when the key is left in, and the radio stays on when the door is open with the key off.
I checked all of the fuses, and every one is OK. We replaced the driver front door latch switch, didn't help. In fact, it might of made it worse.
Just a heads up as I see you are new to this forum. You posted this in the 2009 F150 section. You will get better results if you post it in the correct section which is a little further down the page.

Like $140 for the module, plus another hundred or so for the dealer to program it. Try the simple fix with the wd-40 first though. The VSM is inside the cab, on the firewall above the transmission tunnel. It is just above and to the right of where the accelerator mounts. It should have three wiring connectors on the bottom side.
OK, I WD'd the heck out of all 4 latches without fixing it. I pulled the radio, and I can see the module, but it looks like a 12 pack job just getting to it. I guess my next question is, what harm will this thing do if I don't replace it right away? Can I wait until money is a little better next month? I'll just do the BOHICA (bend over here it comes again), and pay someone to replace it because I don't want to get into taking out the dash. I don't have the time to get into an all day project right now.
You're kind of stuck with the BOHICA anyway. Even if you wanted to replace it yourself, you still have to have the dealer program it as mentioned above.
You should not have to pull your dash to remove it. The most you should have to pull is the dash bezel immediately around the radio, and then the trim panel immediatelly below the radio (in that order, unless you wanna break something). I think it is a 10 mm nut with a deepwell socket is all it takes to pull it.
