Highway trip too soon?

I currently have right around 580 miles on my 2008 4x4 powerstroke.
ALL city, and I mean go a 1/2 a mile stop, go a 1/4 stop etc..
Tommorrow my grandparents need me to go to Pensacola,FL from New Orlenas,LA...About 3 hours away. I know they recomend 1000 miles before a lot of highway driving. I will notbe towing anything. Just some stuff in the bed. Is this too much highway too soon?
Thanks in advance for the replies.

Bought mine new in NC and drove the highway back to Maine. Even before the DPF delete I was getting better mileage than most everyone here.

I would try to vary the speed and try to have some brief acceleration spurts at least until about 1,000 miles. In otherwords, if its flat interstate driving try to mix it up a bit, If its up and down hills where the engine works and varies rpms you're good to go, IMO.

Bought mine on a Friday in Amarillo Tx and it had 40 miles on it (I put 23 of those on in a test drive) and Saturday morning I 450 miles ot get back home (NW NM). The dealer stated that there was no problem with this as long as I was not heavy footed; given the wreck of the previous Saturday - totalled my X and trailer; that was not a problem.
