My 02 has pressure list on the inside of the gas door. Front 32, and rear 35. Why the high pressures? 40 66

I presume you are directing that question at me.. 40 PSI, because I am running full 6ply (rated 65psi) tires, not XL (4ply), and I carry a full compliment of dive x2 RESCUE gear in the truck.. I also have air lift bags and over sized shocks on the back to maintain level flight....

This is a TRUCK, not a daily soft ride .....

No need to apologize, if you don't ask, how will you learn....

You might be interested to know I do not run wheel weight on the rim. Balance is accomplished via beads in the carcass (wheels always balanced, fresh every start)..

My 02 xplr was engaging 4wd intermittantly 4 yrs ago had dealer replace4x4 cm.That fixed it.
2 years later the 4wd lite on dash started coming on by itself. The 4x4 cm was replaced again .It was fixed .
A few weeks ago after having the transfercase flushed and 4 new tires installed the auto 4wd started engaging when I first drive the truck up hill.It only lasts for a short time. The truck seems fine for the rest of the day. Will replace 4x4 cm again.
The 4x4 cm is located behind the glovebox .The truck has 129k miles on it.It is a great towing machine.

You have a ControlTrac T/C, it is responding to slippage conditions....

Check the tire pressure, too high and the tires will slip.....
Uneven pressure will trigger the T/C...

Clean the Hall sensors in the T/C... Philip

Added limited slip additive to rear differential .The problem with control trac went away after a few days.
The explorers with class 3/4 tow package have a limited slip diff.Runs great now.
