My 92 351 misses severely under hard aceleration but only when up to operating temperature.
Runs fine when cold but gets progressively worse as it warms up.
It cuts out only under hard acceleration similar to if a couple cylinders were not firing.
Anyone have experience with this type of engine miss?
Sounds like an ignition problem, could be TFI related if your plugs, wires, and coil are fairly new and the wires are properly routed. The TFI modules are known for heat related problems.
Probably the plug wires shorting out to the exhaust manifolds. You can try spraying them with a little water-works better in low light, and check for spark arcing from the boot end of the wires.
Put some gas line dryer in it $7.00 in a couple bottles of Heet and Iso heet and it will go
away!! Don't buy anything else just run them on whatever fuel is in there.
It is assuming you used the motorcraft or equivalent copper core spark plugs. Dont use bosch in these particular engines because they increase ping and miss when the engine is hot. I would also check to make sure you do not have a cracked distributor cap, as this will cause the timing to be off for a particluar cylinder.
