I've hardly driven it all summer trying to keep the miles at 97K. If I break over 100K miles it will get noticed even less because of filters in the search tools.
Those search tools and online bluebooks are currently useless in determining "real" selling value for our SD's in today market and uber high gas prices.

I am seeing 03, 04 and 05's in my area going for around $13K-$15K and still no takers. Sub $10K might be more your market for it to move. Regardless of mileage, you truck is also 8-9 years old.

That's why I watch the competition. I'm literally the lowest price around despite having low miles and being in nice condition. I can easily find V10's similar to my truck priced higher than me. Sure, it would sell if I made it a screaming deal. But my strategy is to set a fair value for me and the buyer.

Heck, if I wait a couple years I might double my money due to inflation. Then I'll look like a genius!

"Fair Value" can be a very subjective term depending on what side of the transaction you are sitting on. Most consumers are fixated on price points and it looks like you are stagnating selling because you are looking for the right buyer who will give value to low mileage. Wish you well on that.

Thanks for the advice. You think 3/4 ton 4WD trucks all ride pretty much the same?

i can't complain too much about the ride because i wanted a heavy duty truck for towing/hauling. but overall i'm pretty happy with how it rides for what it is. the bilstein shocks definately helped quite a bit on the rough roads.

QwkTrip,

Don't compaere the ride of a 2wd Ford and a 4wd Chevy as it's not a fair comparison. I would bet a 4wd Ford would ride worse than the ifs Chevy.

As for the floor pan rusting... I recall GM had trouble with water leaks in the cab of some trucks. Could be your's is one of them and the wet rug rusted the floor.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

I think my superduty will ride better after the factory shocks come off and I put the new ones on but with the plow prep and overloads on the back its stiff. my buds got a 04 seirea? gmc crew 6ft bed and we call that one smooth because it rides so smooth

Sorry to see you are having a hard time selling your truck QwkTrip. Just not much market for 2wd trucks around these parts, especially with Peoria's horrible plowing crews in the winter.

If you want send me a link to your ad, and I can tell a few people I know about it. One guy I know might be interested in it to pull his Carnival stand around with.

If I were you I would unload the chebby. Stick a truetrac or e-locker in the 00' SD rear and drive it. Its amazing what a 2wd can go through with a good posi or locker out back.

Seems we have a few members 'lookin'. Me included. I have a pristine 99 250 SD, ext cab 4x4 PSD with 65K and other than the tranny puking some tranny fluids while towing at high elev. the truck has been 'great' rides very nice on highways and you just feel safe in these mini tanks. Downside is the awkward handling while parking, uturns, driveways, etc. Major downside is the dramatic loss of value this past year. Like many of us I'd like to upgrade but $10K for my truck is about tops and even with the discounts, rebates, etc. you'll spend another $25+thousand to buy an 07/08. I have a basic edge chip that I'm not too impressed with. Thinking of a full chip with programming and some little upgrades on my 99 and just keep the darn truck another few years.
My buddy has the new Tundra...great truck; look good, rides great, tows perfecto, etc....gets about 10MPG towing a 6,000# RV. He paid about $36K. Any advice on a good tuner that might help my performance is appreciated.

DP Tuner seems to be the hot ticket for 7.3L trucks. Go to the 7.3L section of this forum to get more information.

I've already got posi (or whatever Ford calls it). It's suicide to drive my SD on slippery roads. That's why I keep the Jeep around.
