well today perfect day to start off i get in my gas savor and i start it and the battery light is on soo i said squew this dont got time to deal with this ( on my way to work) soo i get in my truck go to work well anyways soo the last 3 hours horible thunderstorms with hail and everything i get in my truck and start it WHILE still downpouring harder then ive ever seen the water in fuel light was on?? soo i drove it home because ther was no where i could stop and drain the little valve now my question is ?? does it come on when the water in fuel bowl is full or how does that work soo what do i do now?? lol pray???
There is a drain on the bottom of the bowl. Put something under it to catch the water. Drain it until fuel comes out. Turn the key so that the fuel pump comes on but don't start it. When the bowl is full you can start. If for some reason you don't keep a full tank of fuel condensation can form. If this happens and you run the tank low the water mixed with fuel will work it's way through the system.
alot of these are false alarms. I have had it go on a couple times. I shut the truck off - turn it back on and it never goes on. Never had any problems with acutaly h20 in the fuel. No i get my diesel from the same place everytime and never have a prob.
yeah i always keep it with in 10 gallons from full ?? oh well i drained my water seperator today started my truck and the light was off and it dindt look like anywater in my fuel??? oh well
