Drive Shaft

Ok I just brought a 78 ford f-150 4x4 with a 400. It had a bad transmission and transfer case. So i got another tranny and t-case and the guy said they came out of a 78 or 79 bronco. So I put the tranny and t-case in and when I was going to install the rear driveshaft it was too long and the front driveshaft was to short. I noticed that the tranny i put on had a longer shaft sticking out of it. The t-case also had a longer snout that went over the shaft and bolted up to the tranny. I think that both trannys are C-6 and t-cases are both NP 205. So my question is what is the difference in the two set ups and what driveshafts would I have to use. Or would the best bet be to have the driveshaft cut? I called around and they gave a price of 100 bucks. Any help would be appriciated.

There is a long and a short housing. IIRC the difference is about 4". You had a short and ended up putting a long housing in. You can either put the short housing from your old stuff into the new stuff or have new driveshafts made. It will require changing the tailshaft to.

What?????

Two adapter options were available. One short, and one long.
If your shafts do not fit, I can almost guarantee, that they are different,,,,,,,,,well,,,,,maybe i should not say so much.
