Working on a 77 F150 with a/c . Fan doesnt work .Wiring / fuses / switch / resistor all check out fine . Owner says fan was replaced 4 yrs ago . My wiring diagram show the hot wire from the fan motor as orange ...wire comes thru the firewall . I wanted to just run a wire from the battery to the wire under the dash to check to see if the motor is bad or not . My problem is Im not 100% sure that is the wire to the motor . Also , I have no power at any of the wires that plug in the switch , yet I have power for the circuit at the fuse box . I cant find any shorts in the wiring harness from the fuse box to the fan switch . The motor is buried in the duct work ...Ive never torn into this type of system before . Has anyone ever had to replace the blower motor on this or a similar model ? Any help would be appreciated .

There is an excellent article by Thomas Hogan under the "Technical Articles" section on the home page of this site. I used it back in January to replace the leaking heater core in my 1978 F150 4x4 with factory a/c and found it to be most helpful. Be aware that you will need a lot of patience to get the job done because you have very little room to work inside the duct work. While you're in there, you might want to check the heater core in order to keep from having to do all that work all over again anytime soon. Hope the article helps you as much as it did me. Good Luck!!
