is that the xcal II? if so, i have it, and am happy with it. you need more than a device though....it' helps to have someone tune it who knows what they are doing, no matter which brand you go with.

Ok bear with me here.....but does it not come ready to be used? If I have to have some one tune it do I have to send it off or do I look for someone in my local area to do the work?
Thanks,
Craig

usually whoever you buy it from will load it w/some generic tunes. best results come from the vehicle on a dyno.

Don't know if I need a dyno or not. I am interested in better performance when towing (shift points) and of course an increase in mpg's would be nice. (Having said that I am not a person who drives this 3 ton brick and then complains because I am not getting 25 mpg.)

The vehicle is currently being used to pull a trailer (10 x 7) a couple times a week for a distance of 240 miles round trip and avgs approx 12.2 on the computer.

I appreciate any input, have a good one,
Craig

Don't expect better mpg's, but you can expect a little more power. Those gains will be had at the expense of having to run premium fuel though (they'll play with the timing/fuel tables to squeeze out the extra power). Good thing is they should also be able to adjust the shifting table as well to help when you are towing. Best thing is to run the stock tune when not towing and have then produce a tune for you to run while towing. It'll be up to you to figure out if it's worth it or not.
