309 commpression

What should my 390 have for compression?Chilton's left that page out.I'm running at right around 100 per cylinder

Depending on the exact year the average spec is 180.

I looked in my Chilton's Truck and Van: 140 psi for all FE/FT truck listings from 1970 to 1976.

I think the higher pressures are normal for car engines.

How much difference between cylinders was there?

all pretty consistenet at around 100 lbs.,but I used a gauge with a rubber tip and it probably didn't seal as good as it should have.

I think your right my book was passenger car specs.
