has any one used or know some one that has used Hurculiner roll on bed liner? I was wanting to put it in my service body bed on my work truck but if it is junk I dont want to waste money.
My buddy's had this stuff on his bed for about a year now. He sprayed it on with a cheapie HVLP gun from Harbor Freight. Don't know how good it looks rolled on, but it does look good sprayed. It's not very thick, i wanna say about 1/16" thick. At first it was shiny black, which lasted about 4-5 months. Now it's a satin black, doesn't look bad but doesn't look shiny either.
You did say "work truck", so i'm assuming it'll see a lot more abuse then my friend's. I would say to apply a second coat, seeing how the stuff's so thin to begin with. I'll try to get some pics when he's back down from Frisco.
I would recommend getting a slighty better product. Go to an autobody supply house and see what they recommend. I sprayed in a SEM kit ($180)with a schutz gun (about $25) 3 years ago and I still get compliments today. One kit did my whole 8 ft. bed about 1/8". There are some less expensive kits, but they are all head and shoulders above a herculiner kit.
Girlfriends truck (dakota 4x4, not important) has a herculiner, and I mistook it for spray paint the first time I saw it-not impressed. There are quite a few dents from loading motorcycles in the bed and the liner over the dents cracks and peels off. Not acceptable in my book, as that sort of defeats the purpose of a liner in the first place IMO...
