I'm in the process of replacong the heater core in my '78 F-100 and I was disappointed to find that the rubber support that was on the old one was not on the new one that I got from the parts store. It's kind of black heavy duty foam rubber that wraps around the edge to keep it from rattling around in the heat box.
Does anyone have any ideas where I can find something similar to replace it with? The rubber on the old one is toast.
It would not have to be replaced with a rubber seal. Most of the newer cores are sealed with foam. Hardware store foam seals for exterior doors would do fine. Trim to fit.
