is it normal for the two yellow wires from the starter relay to glow relay to get warm and what is the best way to remove a stuburn glow plug thanks in advance! the engine is a 91 model
The wire is going to get warm , and for the glow plug it is swollen, meaning it got too hot. Some people on here have some good ideas, if its just one or two I leave it there as they have a tendency to break off in the engine requiring you to pull the head off the motor.
f350 7.3,
Welcome to FTE and the IDI diesel forum.
Look near the dip stick for a connector where the engine harness plugs into the chassis harness.
Does the connector look like it has been hot and melted on the side with the two yellow wires?
If not you may want to pull it apart and check for any corrosion.
If it looks like it has been hot, you can try to get it apart and clean the contacts, but it may be melted together.
Which cylinder is the glow plug stuck in?
Sometimes spraying PB Blaster aroung the glow plug and letting it soak will loosen the carbon on the tip.
And so will WD-40 - that's how I pulled one of the plugs on my buddy's six-niner, soak the thing with WD-40 and slowly turn it, like you'd treat a long bolt, just turning and no pulling, after a while it came out no problem.
