what is the largest tire size i can put on a 2001 lariat with a six inch lift?

Probably a 38" if it isnt a really wide tire.

id say 40s ..... cuz i only got a 3" body lift and i have 37x13.50x16s and they dont rub at all.....

265/75/16s with no rubbing, and 285/75s if you dont mind rubbing.

Whats the largest tire we should run on our trucks? I drive a 2002 ford f-150 4wd with 285/75R/16 but I like the wide look. Would have to obviously upgrade from stock rim. Any ideas?

^anything wider than a 8" rim and you will rub without a lift.
