I have a 05 F350 4x4 Superduty supercab with the 6.0 PSD. I've just repalced the exhaust with the MBRP 4" turbo back exhaust, Bully Dog Tuner, and a cold air intake and filter from AFE. I wouldn't reccomend anybody bother with these upgrades as I didn't get any better performance at least mileage wise with all these products. I don't drive pedal to the metal, and I keep Very accurate mileage. i added the tuner and cold air before the exhaust as I didn't have time to do all at the same time. Had the exhaust in the box for a month or so. After I added the exhaust sometimes I notice a "miss" when I start up and drive cold. Any advise or comments. I love my truck, but any very unhappy with these products, as very where you look, by adding these products, you should increase performance and mileage, I was hoping for a little better mileage at least.
I actually think if you are driving for economy, you want to retain the smaller exhaust for volumetric efficiency. Everyone who goes with the lower restriction on intakes and exhaust will improve power and efficiency at higher rpm and fuel loads, but suffer at lower rpm's. If you are driving for max fuel economy you naturally would accellerate slower, allowing shifting to take place at lower rpm. So the (going bigger) methods are not necessarily going to improve your fuel efficiency and may actually hurt it. My daddy always told me that for lower rpm's and fuel efficiency you wanted smaller valves, smaller exhaust, smaller intake and you will give up power at higher rpm's. JMHO
Now if you are always or mostly towing, and under boost, the bigger exhaust and intake would be the way to go.

One problem my be the tuning. Custom tuning will usually yeild the best fuel milage. The problem is that the best milage usually comes out of the bigger tunes but you have to control your right foot. The same tune that can give you milage can take it away just as fast.
i usually get about 17.38 to 17.5 mpg. this is combined city/hiway, and the best I ever got was 19.25 mpg combined. I usuall slowly get her up to speed, and maintain for the hiway anywhere from 59 to 62 mph. I was alway told the mileage would improve as i got more mileage on the truck, but it hasn't happened, thats for sure. I guess the "miss" or hesitation is a sore point too.
