Good luck with the new motor. I'm really stumped over your predicament with the old motor. I'd be real curious to find out where it was actually leaking.
We finished and installed that new engine. Runs fantastic. Has good compression, runs smooth - not a hint of a miss. With the 390 vs the old 360 of course you notice the power increase. The cam is not as radical as I would have liked but it will do...... and no oil leaks
The oil leak I have now is a small drip comming out of the C6 Trans tailshaft seal.
We tore the old motor apart and we really can't see what was the issue was. There was a couple cylinders that the honing marks were all gone but those two holes had a 120 lbs of compression. So maybe a couple of il rings where not sealing tight . The intake manifold rear end seal was full and not bullged out but there was some areas where it may not have been tight against the block so I could imagine some oil coming from there but not to the degree it was coating the whole engine bay. So I am not a 100% sure what the issue was. I will hang on to the original block and heads. I am not sure what I should do with 360 crank and rods. I should probably just recycle them, I don't imagine anyone wants to upgrade to that. Thanks for everyones tips!
