V10 Ford Engines

I have been reading some of the postings about piston slap in the V10. Is this for real or what? My V10 was built in 1997.

Can someone credible present the facts?

I have a v10 in a E Superduty, built in early '96, no slap.

I have had some noise when I first start the engine, and maybe a little more just prior to the shift point when cold.

I never considered it a problem. When I hear those folks talking about Ford replacing their engines under warranty, it freaks me out because I'm out of my warranty period.
