I have tried 2x this weekend to get my dpp tuner to work with zero results.
I made sure to disconnect both batteries before touching anything and everything seemed to go back together smoothly.
But no power to the display.
I took it all apart and cleaned the contacts a little more and there was no silicone residue left. A small trace of copper could be seen if you looked hard enough. I put it back together again with the same results (no start and no power to display)
So I figured I better go back to stock as I have work tomorrow and I dont need any headaches. all went back ok, it started right up and I shut it off.
I looked around the truck and found a puddle of oil under the engine.
It isn't pretty to see a grown man cry, so I held it in.
Well I just made a quick run to the store and there was significant white smoke from the exhaust. I turned around immediately and shut her down.
I am not sure what could have gone wrong, it is such a simple installation. And I am a computer tech at my office and have no problems assembling computers from scratch.
I hope the pcm isnt fried, or the dp chip for that matter.
Could this leak have started before the DP Tuner install and just now begun to drip off the engine? Hard to see under the ac compressor but it does come off easily. Doubt that the tuner could cause an oil leak.
If there is no power to the switch then there is a connection problem somewhere. Double check the knotches on the switch to make sure they are lined up correctly with the chip connection. This is a common reason there is no power to the switch. The knotches must be lined up correctly. Check it out and give us a call if this does not resolve of the issue. It is possible you have it in pos. 0. Follow the instructions on the sheet of paper sent with your order or look at the link below to be able to get it out of pos. 0. The only way you would have fried the chip or PCM is if you left the keys in ignition accidently when you pulled out the chip.
Just as I said in post #6 "If this were a weekday Diane would probaly have chimed in already" and here it is Monday morning and Diane has posted advice. Good job Diane. DP Tuner is #1 in customer service.
