They talk about tire stores selling tires more than 6 years old and the tread separate after a few miles and people are getting hurt or killed there is a way to tell the date.If you can get a program for sound it is very helping.
ive tried and tried on the sound thing... but this stupid thing aint downloading drivers for it after a windows XP profesional reinstall...[maybe i should call up microsoft and see what they tell me **shurgs**]
but i didnt even know that tires got old.... i guess they should be melted down, and add a bit of lube to them, and put them to good use HAHA[i know those are made from latex not rubber] i know that if you leave them in the sun and allow them to get to dry they go bad...
I bought a 1989 E-250 about five years ago...so it was what, 14 years old.
The spare was a full sized snow tread on a standard Ford wheel. This wheel had never been mounted, paint still on stud hole bevels and nubbies on the tire.
I ran that tire for most of a year before I sold the van. BUT I didn't buy the tire thinking it was new either.
