Can we start a child board in here. One to use as a swap/for sale/wanted? Being that these engines, trannys, and obsolete or hard to find parts only pertain to this board. I figured that we could more easily help each other out without breaking any rules.

I have to ask the higher ups.

As the rules are right now, if you need something you may ask in the forum.
Responses should be limited to something like "I have one, send me a PM or Email".

Dollars and other negotiations should not be in the open forum.

For sale or for swap post are not allowed.

The classifieds are the right place to post for sale items, with prices and locations.

I get a bit frustrated when I look through the for sale items, many do not have a location.
So then you look at the user info, and half the time there is no location listed there either.
So then you send an email, only to find out the item is 2800 miles away.

Yeah, thats where I'm at too. The classified are so generalized, and potential items could be in super duty, or year specific, or lost all together. Plus I was thinking along the lines of looking for items, more so than just posting for sale items.

Maybe limit it to a thread, but with a link to actuall items in classified.

I think a stickie with specific instructions would work great. Post for sale or needed items, must post price and location. Any replies or other communication to be done by IM or email. Of course things should be limited to the forum model years unless it's something generic like an over drive unit ect.

Would make it much easier knowing that most everything posted would work on our trucks.

If you are looking for something local each of the regional chapters has a buy/sell/trade thread available to you. Other than that I would suggest you fill out then information in the classifieds as completely as possible. The more people that use it the better it will become.

A sub fourm for IDI parts swapping isn't going to happen. Nor is it too likely that the posting guidelines will be altered to allow a for sale sticky in the main forums.

The classified need to be rebuilt from the ground up. It was never designed to handle such a broad sale base, or the volume associated with it.
